Students from Nelson and Colne and Accrington and Rossendale College won multiple regional heats at the Association of Hairdressers and Therapists (AHT) competition.
The AHT regional heats took place in Blackpool on Monday, 24 February, with colleges from throughout the North taking part.
Nelson and Colne College and Accrington and Rossendale College students achieved:
- Xulekha Akbar – bridal hair 1st place
- Erin Leyland – bridal hair 1st place
- Sophie Campbell – bridal hair 1st place
- Maddie Taylor – bridal hair 3rd place
- Xanthia Shackleton – feminine blow dry 4th place
Joanne Halliwell, Head of Division Hair, Beauty and Aesthetics at Nelson and Colne College Group, said: “I am so proud of our students for their incredible achievement at the regional AHT heats.
“Our students did themselves proud and represented the college exceptionally well.
“To achieve such phenomenal results with fierce competition from up to 70 other entries is outstanding.
“I cannot wait to see how well they all do at the national finals.”
The winners have progressed through to the national finals, which will take place in May.
