Fylde Ladies secure education player pathway with the top Girls Football College Education Programme in North West England.

Both parties are delighted to strengthen ties and offer a number of key elements to each other’s growing success. AccRoss College based in Accrington are the only Category 1 girls programme in the area and have two strong female squads filled with 16-19 year olds from across the region. Fylde Ladies have a number of current students and also past students within the first team and development squads respectively.

Fylde Ladies Manager Luke Swindlehurst commented “It’s fantastic news for the club and all concerned as we can clearly demonstrate a player pathway into senior football. Talks between ourselves have been ongoing for some time and we have now been able to further develop our squads with a number of the college players signing on for us this season.

AccRoss has an excellent reputation for player development and academic achievement so it is a very positive step for us to be working closely with them.

The link between both allows us to track our player development and also maximise their potential. Personalised player training programmes combined with the number of football contact hours will only benefit the players.”

College Academy Co-ordinator Tim Breaker added “It’s fantastic to have Fylde Ladies as one of our key academy partners which gives our players a pathway into the Women’s Premier League and a tailor made programme for their individual development. Myself and Luke have an excellent working relationship which helps to ensure the players potential is maximised across both programmes. It’s an exciting time for both AccRoss and Fylde Ladies and we are delighted to have developed a link with such a forward thinking and ambitious club.”
