Course Overview

This course is designed for learners seeking the skills and knowledge needed to work in the world of business particularly the accountancy sector. It provides learners with the underpinning knowledge that is required by employees to work in a range of different environments which require bookkeeping. You may choose that you want to work for an organisation, or become a self-employed bookkeeper once fully qualified.

The course will cover a wide range of subject areas to give you a great insight into bookkeeping. This will enable you to learn new skills or upskill your current skills and qualities.

You will develop essential knowledge of how to carry out bookkeeping techniques such as understanding bookkeeping transactions including income, expenditure, profit and loss. You will also explore the software associated with bookkeeping

Once you have completed your first level qualification and complete further qualifications you can apply for an adult apprentice, or go into employment. There are currently around 30,000 jobs in the North West related to financial accountancy with the average salary averaging £32K once qualified.

Whilst you are qualifying, you could expect to earn around £13 per hour.

How will the course be assessed?

You will be taught face to face in the classroom with our expert teacher.

You will receive feedback from your teacher as well as peer assessment.

The course is assessed by a final exam which is set by AAT.
